Support Joviah

Anena Jovia Laura

My name is Anena Jovia Loura, I am a 14-year-old girl residing in Pece, Gulu, in Northern Uganda. My mom, Anet is a survivor of the war and now working as a street vendor, selling vegetables by the roadside. I have a younger sister and a brother. Our father left us and now our mother is alone, providing for us with no support from him. I completed my primary schooling and would like to start High School this year 2025, but my mom doesn’t have the money.

Everyone says I am a bright girl. I enjoy English, especially reading and writing poetry and creating stories, and when I grow up I wants to study law and become a human rights lawyer and one day a Judge, but if I don’t get the money for school fees I will have no choice but to join my mom selling vegetables on the roadside and delivering boiled maize around town, walking many miles a day, carrying a heavy load of boiled corn on my head.

We are humbly asking for your support, whatever you can contribute, me and my mom and my siblings will be very grateful and happy. We will continue to share my results and our journey with you, to show how your contributions are being used to improve our lives. For public (government) school it’s around $350 for the whole year including uniforms and books etc. For private schooling it’s more expensive, around $500 for the year.
