After horrifying experiences in captivity, former child soldiers often live in isolation, with shame, regret, fear, guilt, bitterness and unforgiveness. Others experience anxiety, depression, nightmares, aggressive and suicidal tendencies. This has significantly affected their self-esteem and ability to study and work and engage in relationships. Their healing and renewal begins with trauma therapy, games and sports, as well as creative therapy like art, music, dance and drama.
